Summary

Destinify is an educational travel exploration app that helps you discover travel ideas using a short quiz and AI-generated suggestions. The app is designed for educational purposes only and does not facilitate bookings, reservations, or any transactions.

We do not ask for or collect personally identifiable information (such as your name, email, phone, or payment details). For quality, safety, and product improvement, we store non-personal data such as quiz answer combinations and the AI responses we returned, as described below.

Data We Collect

1) Quiz answers (non-personal)

We collect the choices you select in the quiz (e.g., season preference, trip style). These are stored as an anonymous combination (no identity attached) to help generate recommendations and to improve suggestion quality over time.

2) AI outputs (non-personal)

We store the AI-generated results (destinations, hotels, restaurants, attractions) that were shown to you, linked to the quiz answer combination only (not to a user identity).

3) Technical logs

Standard for web apps.

  • Basic request metadata (e.g., timestamp, URL path, HTTP status),
  • Approximate IP address for security/abuse prevention (not used to identify you),
  • Device/browser information sent by your browser (User-Agent).

4) Cookies / local storage

We may use localStorage and/or an edge key-value cache to store non-personal data (e.g., recent quiz combinations, recommendation sets, and your saved favorites) for up to 24 hours to improve speed and reduce cost. Your saved favorites are stored locally on your device only and are not transmitted to our servers. We do not use tracking pixels or third-party advertising cookies.

5) Third-party content

For educational purposes, the app displays:

  • Images from Wikipedia Commons: High-quality, freely-licensed images from the destination's Wikipedia page to provide visual context.
  • Educational links to Wikipedia: When you click on a destination, hotel, or attraction, you may be directed to its English Wikipedia page to learn more. These external links open in your device's browser (Safari on iOS) and are subject to Wikipedia's own privacy policy.

We do not control or take responsibility for the content or privacy practices of Wikipedia or any external sites. These resources are provided solely for educational enrichment.

How We Use Data

  • Provide the service: generate and display tailored travel suggestions based on your quiz answers.
  • Improve quality & reliability: analyze anonymous quiz combinations and AI outputs to tune prompts, quality controls, and ranking.
  • Prevent abuse & ensure availability: detect unusual traffic patterns and maintain platform security.

Legal bases (where applicable)

  • Legitimate interests in providing and improving the service;
  • Performance of a contract (when you use the app as intended);
  • Consent for optional features, when explicitly requested.

Retention

  • Edge/cache copies: up to 24 hours (automatic expiry).
  • Aggregated analytics (non-personal): up to 12 months.
  • Server logs: typically 30–90 days, unless needed for security investigations.

Sharing & Processors

We do not sell your data. We share limited data with the following service providers solely to operate the app:

  • Cloudflare Pages/Workers (hosting & edge compute): serves the website and runs the API that calls the AI model; may temporarily cache non-personal responses.
  • OpenAI (model provider): receives quiz answer combinations (non-personal) and returns recommendation JSON. We instruct the model not to include personal data and to return safe, generic content.

These providers may process data in the United States or other regions. We use reasonable measures to limit what is sent (no account identifiers) and to protect it in transit (HTTPS).

Security

We use HTTPS, least-privilege API keys, and provider-level protections. No method is 100% secure, but we continuously improve our safeguards.

Children

Destinify is designed as an educational tool suitable for ages 4 and up, with parental guidance recommended for younger users. The app does not collect personal information from users of any age. The quiz is educational in nature (travel preferences) and does not request names, contact information, or any personally identifiable data.

Your Choices & Rights

  • No account needed: we do not collect names, emails, or logins.
  • Data minimization: quiz combinations and AI outputs are non-personal and stored for quality/analytics.
  • Contact us if you have questions about how we handle data or wish us to delete specific logs tied to your device/session to the extent feasible.

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights (e.g., access, deletion). Because we do not maintain user accounts, verification options are limited but we will make reasonable efforts to address requests.
